               Cheers for your helpful suggestions.  I accept tried your first proffer a couple of times without much success. The Drivers do reinstall and I stop upwardly with a semi functional keyboard and mouse.  This is fully repeatable ie consistent without modify.  It is nonetheless not possible to install MS Mouse and Keyboard Center software as the downloaded version reports the existence of MS MKC which it is unable to remove.

Your second proposition was very good in that I was able to run the FIXIT  however when I did and so it  did not observe an fault  or indeed whatsoever evidence of MS MKC to set up.  The MS MKC install fail consistently with the message regarding the software already existence installed then not being able to remove information technology.

I'm back on an quondam wired mouse as the MS Laser 5000 mouse is frustratingly usable and using the working half the function of my condolement keyboard.

Most considering a clean install but I'm not really confident in the status of Windows 10 64 code to practise it but withal. Should MS Mouse and Keyboard Center work with Windows 10 ?

FYI

MS Update of mouse and keyboard detection + new mouse and keyboard resolved the issue. MSMKC works as expected however I have non tried to update information technology as I take the current version.
